We offer a complete range of dental implant services to colleagues whose patients require implant treatment
on a referral basis, including:
• Implant surgery
• Particulate bone grafting, both staged and simultaneous
• Single or multiple implants [including all-on-four]
• Restoration of implants with fixed crown and bridgework
• Implant-supported overdentures
• Minor oral surgery (broken down teeth, impacted wisdom teeth)
• Intravenous sedation.

Alastair Hetherington

Alastair grew up in Marlborough and studied Dentistry at the University of Bristol. After qualifying with BDS honours and winning the DENTSPLY oral medicine prize, he completed his foundation training year in South Gloucestershire. He went on to work in the Bristol Dental hospital, and The Royal United Hospital, Bath, for two years as a Senior House Officer in Oral Medicine and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, gaining experience in complicated extractions and the treatment of unusual oral health conditions. During this time Alastair completed his membership of the joint dental faculties of the Royal College of surgeons.
In 2013, Alastair travelled to Tanzania with the charity Bridge2aid to teach rural clinical officers how to safely remove teeth under local anaesthetic. Since then he has completed a three-year Master’s Degree in Dental Implantology at the University of Bristol, as well as further training in sinus grafting. Alastair enjoys helping patients with missing teeth to restore their smile using dental implants in a safe, relaxed way.
Alastair jointed Savernake Dental in June 2014 and has enjoyed getting to know his patients and their families. He prides himself on providing high quality, ethical care, putting his patients’ interests first. Alastair is always happy to treat nervous patients, helping them to get the care they need and putting them at ease through creating a calm, friendly atmosphere.
Outside of dentistry, Alastair lives locally with his wife and three children. He is a volunteer for the Aldbourne Beavers group and enjoys being out in the great outdoors, particularly cycling, running and going on adventures with his family.

Steve Conteh

Steve’s main interest is getting to know and understand his patients. This helps in coming to a shared decision on how to give his patients healthy and beautifully natural smiles. High quality digital photography and the latest digital scanning technologies are often used by Steve to help communicate and plan the most appropriate care with his patients. Steve is friendly and calming in order to make visiting a truly enjoyable experience.
Graduating from King’s College London with honours and thoroughly utilised his time there, Steve was able to win multiple awards in both clinical and research aspects of dentistry. He has been awarded opportunities to present his work at European Dental Conferences and had articles published in dental magazines.
The teachings by numerous, internationally renowned individuals have truly inspired Steve to provide the highest standard of care for patients. Internships and courses in the UK and USA have shaped the level of care he provides.
Steve has a passion for aesthetic restorative dentistry within which he is continually travelling and learning to advance his skills.
Steve has since completed the sought after Masters in Implant Dentistry with the University of Bristol. He has also completed training focused on the safe straightening of teeth, amongst a variety of other courses, to improve his skills in providing consistently high quality care. Steve is a Certified Gold Invisalign provider. These are the market leading aligners which can straighten teeth whilst being barely visible.
